(HONOLULU) – Joe Marshall says he didn’t fully realize what he was committing to, when he volunteered to chop up and carry an entire wrecked car out of Ka‘ena Point State Park.

(HONOLULU) – The State Board of Land and Natural Resources (BLNR) has approved a $30,000 fine for the owner of a boat who allowed the boat’s co-owner, her husband, and their child to live on the boat, moored in the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor, without required permitting.

(HONOLULU) – The Board of Land and Natural Resources (BLNR) has approved an extension, requested by the owners of the Wahiawa Dam on O‘ahu, to design and implement improvements to the dam’s spillway and embankment structure.

(HONOLULU) – Today, the State Board of Land and Natural Resources approved a request from the DLNR Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR) to hold a public hearing to incorporate fishery rules for the Miloliʻi Community-Based Subsistence Fishing Area (CBSFA) on Hawai‘i Island.

(HONOLULU) – Today the Board of Land and Natural Resources (BLNR) approved the re-opening of the remaining eight BFRAs, which were closed to fishing since 2007. The re-opening’s are effective immediately. 

(HONOLULU) – In a 73-page decision today, the Hawai‘i Supreme Court unanimously affirmed the First Circuit Court’s ruling upholding the State Board of Land and Natural Resources (Board) decision on a Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) and Incidental Take License (ITL) for the Na Pua Makani wind power project on the north shore of O‘ahu. 

(HONOLULU) – Today the Board of Land and Natural Resources (BLNR) approved a proposal from the DLNR Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR) to hold a statewide meeting and hearing to amend Hawai‘i Administrative Rules regulating the possession and use of certain fishing gear.

(HONOLULU) – The Board of Land and Natural Resources voted yesterday to submit the Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Kāʻanapali Beach Restoration and Berm Enhancement project to Governor David Ige.  

(HONOLULU) – Today, the Board of Land and Natural Resources fined Twogood Kayaks Hawai‘i, Inc., for conducting unpermitted commercial activity on at least five separate occasions, in ocean waters off Kailua.   

(HONOLULU) – Following an earlier public hearing, and verbal and written testimony submitted by dozens of people, the State Board of Land and Natural Resources voted today to implement amended rules limiting and regulating commercial activity in ocean waters at Kahalu‘u Bay on the Kona coast of Hawai‘i Island.
