The Hawai‘i State Water Commission approved a mediated settlement today that will immediately restore continuous flows in the Waimea River, as well as provide the opportunity for a renewable energy project, water for Hawaiian homesteading, and farming.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) is accepting proposals for projects or programs submitted by public or private agencies or organizations to increase water security in the State of Hawaii.
HONOLULU - The State Commission on Water Resource Management (CWRM) will hold public hearings to receive testimony on proposed updates to the State Water Projects Plan (SWPP). The SWPP identifies future water demands and source strategies for State water projects. This update of the SWPP focuses on water projects for the Department of Hawaiian Homelands.

(WAILUKU) – The Commission on Water Resource Management (Commission) staff confirmed today Wailuku Water Company, LLC (WWC) has provided notice WWC is proceeding with emergency work for the purpose of repairing and conducting stream maintenance activities (i.e., debris removal) to its ‘Īao Intake on Wailuku River pursuant to Hawaii Administrative Rules Chapter 13-169-55.
WAILUKU, MAUI – The Commission on Water Resource Management will be performing work on the waterfall at the Waihe‘e Ditch siphon where it crosses Wailuku River*. The Commission has asked Wailuku Water Company, LLC (WWC) to reduce the amount of water to Wailuku River, in order to perform the work and provide a safe work environment.
HONOLULU -- Applications for a vacant position on the State Commission on Water Resource Management are now being accepted for a new term that will begin July 1, 2016 and run for four (4) years, expiring on June 30, 2020. Applications and resumes should be postmarked no later than Friday, February 26, 2016.
(WAILUKU) - During mid to late August, 2015 the Wailuku Water Company, LLC (WWC) will undertake repairs to the Waihee Ditch siphon where it crosses ʻĪao Stream. According to the work plan, the stream needs to be nearly dry to repair the siphon and provide a safe working environment.
