(Hilo) –Archery hunting in the Pu’uanahulu Game Management area (GMA) begins Sunday, March 1, 2020 and continues weekends and state holidays through Sunday, June 28, 2020. The DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) also announce that the annual closure of the archery season in this GMA will be from July through February.

(Hilo) – The spring season for bearded turkey hunting on Hawai‘i Island begins Sunday March 1, 2020. The DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) announces the opening of the spring season which will run for 46 consecutive days through Wednesday, April 15, 2020. 

(Honolulu) – The DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) announces a shorter hunting season for the mourning dove (Zenaida macroura) to meet current state regulations and to comply with federal mandates, including the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. The last day for hunting mourning dove is now January 12, 2020.

 (Honolulu)-Artists are welcome to submit entries to the DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) in the annual art contest depicting game mammals and game birds for the 2020–2021 hunting stamp.   

(Honolulu)-The DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) announces the opening of the 2019-2020 Game Bird Hunting Season on Saturday, November 2, 2019.  The fall game bird hunting season will run through Sunday, January 25, 2020.  A valid hunting license and a game bird stamp are required for all game bird hunting on public and private lands. 

(Honolulu) – Deer hunting enthusiasts can soon apply to hunt for the new season. The Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) announces that application forms for the 2019 Lana’i Axis deer hunting season, together with instruction sheets, will be available at all DOFAW Offices statewide beginning next Monday September 30, 2019. 

(Gilbert Kahele Recreation Area) - 45 women, mostly from Hawai‘i, spent the last few days being schooled in outdoor skills during the first-ever “Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW)” retreat in Hawai’i. This is the Aloha State’s initial foray into a 20-year-old international program that sponsors skill-development weekends in 41 states, seven Canadian provinces and seven other countries.

(Līhuʻe) - Deer hunting enthusiasts can now apply to hunt as the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) announce the opening of the black-tailed deer hunting season on the island of Kaua‘i. Rules and conditions regulating game mammal hunting in Title 13, Chapter 123 will be in effect.

(Honolulu) —  Effective June 15, 2019, the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) district and administrative offices will begin issuing hunting licenses and stamps for the new hunting season (July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020). A valid hunting license is required for hunting on public and private lands. All game mammal hunting is regulated by Hawaii Administrative Rules Title 13, Chapter 123 and all game bird hunting is regulated by Hawaii Administrative Rules Title 13, Chapter 122.
