Vessel Registration and Titling

On July 1, 2021, DOBOR implemented vessel titling.  All undocumented vessels principally used in Hawaii must be titled.  Detailed Vessel Registration and Titling information, including requirements and fees, is available here.

As part of the implementation of vessel titling, DOBOR will be changing to a new system for vessel registration and titling.  Online credit card payments will be temporarily disabled during the transition.

Until further notice, we request that all boaters renewing their vessel registration come in-person to the Vessel Registration and Titling Office on Oahu or the nearest Neighbor Island District Office to verify and/or provide additional information for their vessels as well as to obtain a vessel title.  Under vessel titling and registration laws, a vessel cannot be registered unless it is titled, except for those vessels exempt from titling.  Mail-in registration renewal and titling services are also available.  Please contact the appropriate office for more information.

Commercial Operation Payments

Please submit payments online via CommercialCafe.

If you do not have a login account to the site, please email [email protected] and include your boating account number to receive an email with next steps.

Electronic Notifications

The AlertMedia system offers quick and efficient message delivery via the user’s choice of email, text message, automated phone call, and/or the AlertMedia app (available for iOS and Android via the Apple Store and Google Play).

DOBOR adheres to strict data use policies and will never sell users’ information to a third party.  Participants must opt-in to receive notifications using the link above and can unsubscribe from the service at any time.
