UPDATE 4/16/18:

• THE ISLAND OF KAUA‘I EXPERIENCED UNPRECEDENTED FLOODING OVER THE WEEKEND, CAUSING MASSIVE DAMAGE TO MANY AREAS.  THE GOVERNOR HAS ISSUED A DISASTER PROCLAMATION AND THE FULL EXTENT OF THE IMPACTS HAVE NOT YET BEEN EVALUATED.  MULTIPLE STATE PARK AREAS WERE AFFECTED.

•NAPALI COAST STATE WILDERNESS PARK (KALALAU TRAIL) AND HA‘ENA STATE PARK ARE INACCESSIBLE DUE TO FLOODING AND LANDSLIDES.  THEY WILL LIKELY REMAIN CLOSED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD.

• POLIHALE STATE PARK REMAINS CLOSED DUE TO SEVERE FLOODING ON THE ENTRANCE ROAD.

• KA\'ENA POINT STATE PARK, O‘AHU IS REOPENED TO VEHICLE ACCESS AS OF FRIDAY 4/13.  PERMITS REQUIRED FOR ENTRY, AND PERMITTEES ARE REQUIRED TO RESPECT  DETOURS AND DRIVE CAUTIOUSLY TO AVOID CAUSING FURTHER DAMAGE TO SATURATED PARK ROADS .
