IF YOU’RE ALWAYS ON THE LOOKOUT FOR TURTLES,
MAYBE YOU’VE SEEN SOME HAWKSBILLS!

Although rare to find, Hawaiian hawksbills (Eretmochelys imbricata) inhabit the same coastal waters with our more common green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas). If you’re lucky enough to discover one, please send your sighting information to Hawaiian Hawksbill Conservation. If you have any photos or videos, they’ll be compared to the rest of the photo-ID catalog to see if it’s a re-sight of a known individual or a new one. Each report increases our knowledge of this endangered species and helps conservation efforts. Mahalo!
