National Trails Day
June 7

National Trails Day recognizes the importance of trails for recreation, health, conservation, and community connection. It encourages people to explore the outdoors and participate in activities that promote the care and stewardship of trail systems. It was first celebrated in 1993.
Hawaiʻi’s biggest collection of public trails is managed by our Nā Ala Hele Trail and Access Program. Nā Ala Hele manages hundreds of miles of trails across Hawaiʻi and is the primary way that many people access their public lands and engage with nature. You can get outside and explore your public trails using the resources below:
