Puʻuwaʻawaʻa Volunteer Day

Join Nāpuʻu Natural Resource Management (NNRM) for a volunteer day in our ‘Aiea Unit! Event is limited to 15 people but we will have a waitlist. 4WD is required.
If you have a 4WD vehicle and would be willing to give people rides, please let us know. Those who don’t have one, please indicate that you will need a ride in your RSVP. We will have staff vehicles to transport some people.

Date: Saturday, June 28, 2025
Time: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Location: Meet at the Puʻuwaʻawaʻa Forest Reserve at the hikers station (left-hand side parking area right inside of gate)
What: We will be weeding and out-planting various native dry/mesic plants which provide biodiversity, watershed restoration, and cultural importance. Most planting will be done in a rocky soil substrate. Gloves and tools will be provided.
Bring:
- Sturdy hiking boots/shoes (closed-toe) are REQUIRED
- Long-sleeved shirts and long pants are recommended
- Snacks and a lunch
- Plenty of water: a water cooler will be available for refills.
- Sun protection: Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
- Rain gear
**Terrain is uneven and rocky. Weather can be hot and sunny or cold and rainy.**
