Talk Story on the Land at Mahukona gives the community a chance to learn about Mahukona’s cultural significance and history as well as continued traditional navigational use. It also provides the chance to care for this cherished place through native seed collection\, invasive species removal\, native planting\, fire safety measures\, and kilo (observation and documenting changes over time). The hike takes you over rocky\, uneven terrain in hot\, often windy conditions with few opportunities for shade and lasts for approximately one and a half to two hours. Please wear close-toed shoes\, long sleeves\, sunscreen and bring water in your own reusable bottle. Meet at the canoe warehouse at 9 AM (on your right after turning left off the highway).
