Located at the end of Makahi Street\, up Kaloko Drive in Kailua-Kona.  \nParking: Please park on the side of the road and be mindful of no-parking zones. \nWhat to Expect: \nWe are working with professional trail designers and the community to make a plan to improve the Makāula-ʻOoma Trails and apply sustainable trail-building techniques and standards. Staff will explain sustainable trail design to participants and discuss our long-term plans to improve this trail system for all user groups. \nWork may include: \n\nStarting construction of new trail reroutes (use of pulaskis\, pick mattocks\, McLeods\, shovels\, etc.)\nReplacing rotting logs in the trail with rock (ability to carry heavy rocks/buckets)\nRemoving vegetation along new\, proposed trail routes (use of loppers and/or sickles)
