When your RSVP is confirmed\, please make sure to sign the waiver here: https://808cleanups.org/waiver/  \nParking: Take the paved driveway down from the highway into the dirt parking area surrounded by boulders. Be careful of uneven terrain and make your way to the barricades where you’ll see the brown 808 Cleanups truck. Look for the brown Toyota Tacoma with the 808 Cleanups Signage on the truck parked in the dirt parking area oceanside for Erma’s/Alan Davis/Left Point. DESCRIPTION:Register for the event at https://dlnr.ivolunteer.com/#1. \nPlease email leahistateparks@gmail.com for any questions.  \nAt Diamond Head State Monument\, volunteers will be working at various gardens and restoration sites\, participating in weeding\, pruning\, and removing invasive species as assigned by the Park Ranger. Tools and gloves for the workday will be provided by Park staff\, but volunteers are welcome to bring their personal tools and gloves. If you plan to bring personal tools\, make sure they are labeled and let Parks staff know ahead. \nWorking within Diamond Head\, the weather can get very hot and dry\, and the terrain is often uneven. Come prepared to work in the sun and do moderate to heavy lifting/carrying. Here are some rules to follow\, and items that all volunteers are required to bring: \n–>> Rules: \n1. Follow all rules of the park while you volunteer \n2. Stay within the designated work area unless specified by Park Ranger or staff \n3. SUMMARY:Huilua Fishpond Work Days at ʻAhupuaʻa O Kahana State Park
DESCRIPTION:Huilua Loko iʻa (Fishpond)\, in Kahana Bay on the Island of Oahu\, illustrates the unique aquafarming practices of the Hawaiian people. Out of the estimated 97 fishponds once on the coast of Oahu\, Huilua is one of only six that still exists. The Huilua Fishpond had a 500-foot rock seawall attached to the shoreline that encircled 7 acres of Kahana Bay near the mouth of Kahana Stream. Huilua has been impacted by a changing landscape affecting stream flow\, building sediment in the fish pond and at the river mouth abutting the fish pond\, altering wave interaction on the walls\, and currents that filter into the pond. Come learn about the traditional uses of the loko iʻa by Kahana ʻohana\, and kōkua as they remove invasive species\, sand\, silt and debris that enter the pond.

SUMMARY:Huilua Fishpond Work Days at ʻAhupuaʻa O Kahana State Park
DESCRIPTION:Huilua Loko iʻa (Fishpond)\, in Kahana Bay on the Island of Oahu\, illustrates the unique aquafarming practices of the Hawaiian people. Out of the estimated 97 fishponds once on the coast of Oahu\, Huilua is one of only six that still exists. The Huilua Fishpond had a 500-foot rock seawall attached to the shoreline that encircled 7 acres of Kahana Bay near the mouth of Kahana Stream. Huilua has been impacted by a changing landscape affecting stream flow\, building sediment in the fish pond and at the river mouth abutting the fish pond\, altering wave interaction on the walls\, and currents that filter into the pond. Come learn about the traditional uses of the loko iʻa by Kahana ʻohana\, and kōkua as they remove invasive species\, sand\, silt and debris that enter the pond.

DESCRIPTION:Register for the event at https://dlnr.ivolunteer.com/#1. \nPlease email leahistateparks@gmail.com for any questions.  \nAt Diamond Head State Monument\, volunteers will be working at various gardens and restoration sites\, participating in weeding\, pruning\, and removing invasive species as assigned by the Park Ranger. Tools and gloves for the workday will be provided by Park staff\, but volunteers are welcome to bring their personal tools and gloves. If you plan to bring personal tools\, make sure they are labeled and let Parks staff know ahead. \nWorking within Diamond Head\, the weather can get very hot and dry\, and the terrain is often uneven. Come prepared to work in the sun and do moderate to heavy lifting/carrying. Here are some rules to follow\, and items that all volunteers are required to bring: \n–>> Rules: \n1. Follow all rules of the park while you volunteer \n2. Stay within the designated work area unless specified by Park Ranger or staff \n3. Please be aware of your surroundings\, and other volunteers\, when using tools \n4. DESCRIPTION:Register for the event at https://dlnr.ivolunteer.com/#1. \nPlease email leahistateparks@gmail.com for any questions.  \nAt Diamond Head State Monument\, volunteers will be working at various gardens and restoration sites\, participating in weeding\, pruning\, and removing invasive species as assigned by the Park Ranger. Tools and gloves for the workday will be provided by Park staff\, but volunteers are welcome to bring their personal tools and gloves. If you plan to bring personal tools\, make sure they are labeled and let Parks staff know ahead. \nWorking within Diamond Head\, the weather can get very hot and dry\, and the terrain is often uneven. Come prepared to work in the sun and do moderate to heavy lifting/carrying. Here are some rules to follow\, and items that all volunteers are required to bring: \n–>> Rules: \n1. Follow all rules of the park while you volunteer \n2. Stay within the designated work area unless specified by Park Ranger or staff \n3. Please be aware of your surroundings\, and other volunteers\, when using tools \n4. SUMMARY:Huilua Fishpond Work Days at ʻAhupuaʻa O Kahana State Park
DESCRIPTION:Huilua Loko iʻa (Fishpond)\, in Kahana Bay on the Island of Oahu\, illustrates the unique aquafarming practices of the Hawaiian people. Out of the estimated 97 fishponds once on the coast of Oahu\, Huilua is one of only six that still exists. The Huilua Fishpond had a 500-foot rock seawall attached to the shoreline that encircled 7 acres of Kahana Bay near the mouth of Kahana Stream. Huilua has been impacted by a changing landscape affecting stream flow\, building sediment in the fish pond and at the river mouth abutting the fish pond\, altering wave interaction on the walls\, and currents that filter into the pond. Come learn about the traditional uses of the loko iʻa by Kahana ʻohana\, and kōkua as they remove invasive species\, sand\, silt and debris that enter the pond.
