SUMMARY:Diamond Head State Monument: Makai Slopes Volunteer Work Day
DESCRIPTION:Join DLNR State Parks\, in partnership with the Diamond Head Foundation\, Kapiʻolani Community College\, and Kuilei Cliffs on the Lēʻahi Makai Slopes Restoration Project at Diamond Head State Monument\, register for this event at Lēʻahi Diamond Head State Monument: Makai Slopes & Muriel Flanders Community Volunteer Day. \nVolunteers will be working on various tasks along the makai facing slopes of Diamond Head Road\, including weeding\, pruning\, and removing invasive species. Tools and gloves for the workday will be provided\, but volunteers are welcome to bring their personal tools and gloves. If you plan to bring personal tools\, make sure they are labeled and let Parks staff know ahead. \nService work at Lēʻahi\, can be in all types of weather and terrain. Generally\, it can get very hot and dry\, and the terrain is often uneven. Come prepared to work in the sun and do moderate to heavy lifting/carrying. Here are some rules to follow\, and items that all volunteers are required to bring: \n–>> Rules: \n1. Follow all rules of the park while you volunteer \n2. Stay within the designated work area\, and focus on removing targeted species unless specified by Park Ranger or staff \n3. Please be aware of your surroundings\, and other volunteers\, when using tools and while working at this site\, as it is along a road \n4. Be sure to clean all tools\, and work area\, at the end of work day\, and return the high visibility vest that will be issued to all volunteers \n–>> Remember to bring the following items: \n• Water • Hat • Shoes • Work pants • Work shirt (T-Shirt OK) • Sunscreen \n  \n \n\n\n	Related
