Register here: link \nHawaiʻi is the only place in the world where Pacific Golden-Plovers\, known as kōlea\, live closely among humans\, making them ideal subjects for Kōlea Count\, a Hawaiʻi Audubon Society citizen science project. Susan Scott’s presentation explores the history of kōlea in Hawaiʻi\, their remarkable breeding lives in Alaska\, and how public affection has made Kōlea Count a lasting success. Scott is the author or coauthor of 10 books on the natural history of Hawaiʻi and has served as president of the Hawaiʻi Audubon Society since 2022.
