DESCRIPTION:The Department of Land and Natural Resources\, Division of Aquatic Resources is scheduling a virtual public scoping session for the proposed Kīpahulu Community-Based Subsistence Fishing Area (CBSFA) on Tuesday\, June 7th\, 2022 from 5:30-7:30 pm HST.  \nThe proposed Kīpahulu CBSFA is from Kālepa Gulch in the southwest to Pua‘alu‘u Gulch in the northeast\, spanning roughly 5.7 miles of coastline. The proposed rule changes to Hawai‘i Administrative Rules would establish new bag limits\, size limits\, seasonal closures and/or gear restrictions for kala\, ‘ōmilu\, moi\, kole\, ulua\, ‘opihi and limu; prohibit take while night diving and scuba spearfishing; and prohibit commercial take of akule. DESCRIPTION:The Holoholo Fisher “Talk Story” sessions are hosted by the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR)\, Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR)\, and were first initiated in 2021 as an effort to increase outreach\, education\, and dialogue between DAR and the fishing community.
