PROTECTORS & PROMOTERS PARTNER – THE DLNR/HTA PARTNERSHIP
WHAT: Establishing the nexus between the health of Hawai’i’s precious natural and cultural resources and the robustness of the state’s primary economic driver, the visitor industry, the Department of Land and Natural Resources and the Hawai’i Tourism Authority have teamed up to provide communications products and outreach efforts for visitors and local people alike. Utilizing the newly created brand, DLNR & You, this first year of the partnership includes HTA funding for broadcast airtime for three DLNR produced television specials (Renegades, Risks and Rewards of the Napali Coast, The Endangered Sea Birds of Kaua’i, and Hawai’i’s Endangered Forest Birds). This fall, as part of the HTA/DLNR programmatic agreement, DLNR is contracting for the design, production and installation of 25 strategically placed large environmental/conservation messaging signs around O‘ahu.
