2022 Kauai Hunting Announcements
Posted on Mar 8, 2022Hunting Encouraged in Unit E2, Including Nā Pali-Kona Forest Reserve
Kauaʻi Division of Forestry and Wildlife would like to encourage public hunting in Unit E2, recently enclosed areas, by temporarily allowing overnight camping at designated campsites in Na Pali-Kona Forest Reserve, Alakai Wilderness Preserve. All other Forest Reserve and Hunting Rules and Regulations will still apply. The special permit for overnight camping can be found at this link. See the StoryMap below for more details. 2022 Kaua’i Goat Hunting Season
DLNR announces the opening of the Kauaʻi Goat hunting season. Click on 2022 Kauaʻi Goat Season Announcement for detailed information.
Goat Rifle/Muzzleload will be assigned by lottery. 2022 Goat Rifle Muzzleload Applications are available at various vendors and check stations.
RIFLE will run for consecutive weekends May 6th to August 29, 2022: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Two slots/hunter) in Unit B.
MUZZLELOAD will run for consecutive weekends from June 18th to August 28, 2022; Saturday and Sunday only (Two weekends/hunter) in Unit A.
The deadline for submitting applications is on Friday, April 1, 2022. Applications must be dropped off in our drop off box by 4:00pm or postmarked on/before the deadline date. Applications received after the due date will not be accepted.

Vendors have a limited amount, so please be sure to call in advance for availability.
Kauaʻi Hunting Permits
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, we would like to ensure that Hunters have the opportunity to purchase hunting permits. This form is for 2021-2022 Hunting Season. Please ensure that you have purchased a new hunting license before submitting a request form. If you have purchased a Hu
nting license through our vendors, please submit a copy of the hunting license with the application.

Unit G Archery Hunting Permits
To apply for a Unit G Permit, you MUST have a current 2021-2022 Hunting License and have purchased Goat Archery F G K permit.
Permits are issued within 3-consecutive hunting days. Processing may take up to a week, please apply a week or two before you plan to hunt.

Camping permits are processed through Division of State Parks. Camping permits are limited, please call 808-274-3444 for availability.
