FERAL GOAT ARCHERY PERMITS AVAILABLE FOR HUNTING UNIT F ON KAUAI
LIHU‘E – The Department of Land and Natural Resources’ Division of Forestry and Wildlife announces the opening on July 19 of Hunting Unit F for archery goat hunting on the island of Kaua‘i, pursuant to Title 13, Chapter 123, “Rules Regulating Game Mammal Hunting,” §13-123-9.
Interested hunters will need to show a valid hunting license to obtain an archery permit.
Permits are now available at the Lihu‘e Division of Forestry and Wildlife office at 3060 ‘Eiwa St. Rm. 306, Lihu‘e, HI 96766.
Archery hunting will start from July 19, 2014, and run through Dec. 28, 2014, on weekends and state holidays. The limit will be two feral goats (either sex) per hunter per day. Animals may be de-boned in the field. Blaze orange will not be required for the archery only season. Pig hunting will continue as scheduled.
There is no limit on the number of times a person can participate. Access into Unit F is through State Highway 550 and Menehune Road in Waimea valley. Participants will be required to check in and out at the Waimea Valley, Waimea Heights, Mango Tree, or Koke‘e hunter check stations.
