- 10/03/15 – Volunteers Statewide Learn to Spot Coral BleachingHONOLULU - Hawaii’s unprecedented coral bleaching event this fall prompted dozens of new volunteers to receive training today by the Eyes of the Reef Network (EOR), to spot and report coral bleaching on their local reefs. Billed as Bleachapalozza, today’s statewide training was intended to increase the number of trained volunteers in the water, documenting and reporting bleaching to the network.

- 12/07/15 – New On-Line System Streamlines Process for Kaena Point Access Permits, DLNR Releases Video Tutorial to Assist Applicants(HONOLULU) – The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of State Parks has set up a new on-line format to issue free annual permits for anyone wanting to drive a vehicle into the Mokuleia section of Kaena Point State Park Reserve on Oahu’s north shore. - 01/29/16 – DLNR Holds Public Meeting February 5 on Koke‘e Animal Control Within Pu‘u Ka Pele Fire Reforestation ProjectLIHU‘E, KAUA‘I -- The latest step in the state’s ongoing efforts to restore the Pu‘u Ka Pele Forest Reserve on Kaua‘i is to protect the newly out-planted koa trees within the previously burned and logged area, by carrying out an animal control hunt within a designated portion of the forest reserve. This animal control will run for two months from Feb. 8, 2016 to April 8, 2016.
