Pu’u o Mahuka Heiau State Historic Site has REOPENED. Ka’ena Point State Park, Mokule’ia vehicle access road remains CLOSED due to unsafe road conditions, park is open to pedestrian and bicycle access. Ka’ena Point State Park, Mākua-Keawa’ula section remains CLOSED due to eroded highway repairs.

‘Iao Valley State Monument: Will be CLOSED until June 26, 2026 for safety improvements.

Polipoli Spring State Recreation Area: Polipoli cabins and camping areas are CLOSED until further notice.

State Beaches in West Hawaii Closing at 2:00pm Today
Posted on Mar 4, 2021(Kailua-Kona) – To mirror Hawai‘i County’s precautionary closure of West Hawai‘i beach parks at 2 p.m., DLNR is announcing the following actions.
- All State Parks in West Hawai‘i that have a beach or shoreline component closing at 2 p.m.
- All unencumbered beaches in West Hawai‘i under DLNR Land Division management closing at 2 p.m.
- Mariners and boaters with vessels in Kona or North Hawai‘i area State Small Boat Harbors should take precautions to secure their vessels.
Normal hours and operations are expected to resume on Friday.
