State Parks is celebrating World Wetlands Day on Monday, February 7 with multiple community partner organizations that steward different sites around the largest wetland in Hawaiʻi, Kawainui Marsh. This is a day to celebrate and steward wetlands, and to learn about the significance and role of wetlands, the historic and cultural uses of Kawainui, and the flora and fauna that call this place home.

We will be hosting a volunteer day at Nā Pōhaku o Hauwahine at Kawainui State Park Reserve off of Kapaʻa Quarry Rd. in Kailua from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm with our curator at this site, Ahahui Mālama I Ka Lōkahi.
