**IMPORTANT PARK NOTICES**

[KAUA’I] UPDATED 7/19/24 – Volunteer evacuation from Kōke'e and Waimea Canyon State Parks, as wildfire is CLOSED roads.

[MAUI] UPDATED 7/12/24 – Polipoli Spring State Recreation Area: Access to the park and cabin is CLOSED until further notice due to the recent Kula wildfire.

[KAUAʻI] UPDATED 7/1/24 – Polihale State Park: Queen\'s Pond access Road is CLOSED June 17-21 (M-F) for rock placement.  Pedestrian traffic should be aware of heavy equipment traversing through the area.  The park remains open - visitors should access via Cane Top access road and points beyond.

[HAWAI’I] UPDATED 7/1/24 –\'Akaka Falls State Park is closed this week for additional repair work. Expected to reopen this weekend 7/6/24.

[KAUAʻI] UPDATED 6/18/24 –Kalalau Trail, Nāpali Coast State Wilderness Park: Camping permits held back for local residents during summer, see Kalalau Trail site for more information.

[KAUAʻI] UPDATED 6/18/24 – Kōkeʻe State Park: The gate to Puʻu O Kila Lookout will be closed to vehicular traffic due to road repairs beginning 3/19/24. The lookout will still be accessible by pedestrians, parking is available at Kalalau lookout.

[HAWAI\'I] UPDATED 6/18/24 -  West Hawaii State Parks to close early on the 4th of July at 5 PM. Parks effected are: Kekaha Kai SP—Mahai’ula section and Manini’owali (Kua Bay) section, Kiholo SPR, Hapuna Beach SRA and Waialea section

Reservation Info

Do I need a reservation?
Yes. As of April 19, 2021 all non-resident visitors to Waianapanapa State Park will require an entrance AND parking reservation.

If you arrive on foot, bicycle, or are dropped off, you only need entry tickets for all members of your party. 

All reservations MUST be made in advance. You cannot purchase a same-day reservation at the park.

Where can I make reservations?
Official reservations are available through our private partner Reef Parking  https://gostateparks.hawaii.gov/waianapanapa
Can I make a same-day reservation?
No. Reservations must be made at least  1-day in advance.
When are reservation dates and times released or become available?
Parking and entry reservations are available 30-days in advance, 90-days for camping. Reservations are released one day at a time at midnight Hawaii Standard Time.
Does my Parking reservation provide entry to all passengers in my car?
No. You will need both a parking reservation and entry ticket for yourself and an entry ticket for the passengers in your vehicle.
I purchased an Entry voucher; where do I park?
There are no parking options outside of Waianapanapa State Park without a parking voucher. The road leading up to the park is privately owned and your car will be towed if you park there!  Valid forms of transportation with an entry voucher are walking, non-motorized vehicles (e.g. bike), rideshare/taxi, or carpooling with a Hawaii Resident with State Issued ID.
I booked the wrong date or time-slot, can you please change my reservation?
Unfortunately reservation dates and times cannot be changed once the purchased. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No refunds, no exceptions.
If we purchased the 7:00am to 10:00am do we need to purchase another voucher to stay until 12:00pm?
Yes, multiple time-slots can be purchased to stay at the park for an extended period. In this situation a voucher for 7:00am to 10:00am and a voucher for 10:00am to 12:30pm will be needed.
My reservation states the time of entry is 10:00am-12:30pm. Does that mean I have to leave the park by 12:30?
Yes. You can enter the park anytime within your reservation time-slot but must leave the park once your reservation has ended.
Can I park there all day?
If you want to park all day, you’ll need to purchase vouchers for all the time you plan on visiting. If you want to be there from park opening until sunset, you’ll need to purchase all four time-slots. Note – not all time-slots may be available on a given date.
