PARK UPDATES:  4/19/21 - [ALL ISLANDS] - Modifications to the fees required for entrance and parking go into affect today for non-residents at various parks across the islands including; KAUAI: Haena, Kokee, Waimea Canyon, OAHU: Diamond Head, Nuuanu Pali, MAUI: Iao Valley, Makena, Waianapanapa, and HAWAII: Akaka Falls, Hapuna Beach.  Visitors will be required to pay for both entry and parking.


4/7/21 -[OAHU] - Kaena Point State Park - Vehicle Access Gate on the Mokuleia side (north shore) is OPEN. The Keawaula gate (west side) remains CLOSED but the park is OPEN.


4/5/21 - [OAHU] -  Waahila Ridge State Recreation Area has ongoing construction work to the park and the entrance gate will be CLOSED April 5, 2021 through April 28, 2021. This has the potential to limit access to the Waahila Ridge Trail through the park. Additional access limitations may be intermittent throughout the month.


3/29/21 - [KAUAI] - The Kalalau Trail reservation system is now open again. Reservations are available 30-days in-advance. Haena State Park Entry and Parking reservations are also available for morning and midday reservations. Sunset-time reservations are currently not available. Permittees are encouraged to be vigilant and check the Hawaii DOT webpage for current Kuhio Highway access hours and protocols. - DOT Website: https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/

Reservation Info

Do I need reservation?

Yes. Starting March 1, 2021 all non-resident visitors to Waianapanapa State Park will require an entry or parking reservation. ***Starting April 19, 2021 all non-resident visitors to Waianapanapa State Park will require an entrance AND parking reservation.

If you arrive on foot, bicycle, or are dropped off, you only need entry tickets for all members of your party.

All reservations MUST be made in advance. You cannot purchase a same-day reservation at the park.

Where can I make reservations?

Official reservations are available through our private partner Reef Parking  https://www.gowaianapanapa.com/

When are reservations released?

Reservations are available 14-days in advance. Reservations are released one day at a time at midnight Hawaii Standard Time (HST).

Can I make a same-day reservation?

No. Reservations must be made at least  1-day in advance.

I purchased an Entry voucher; where do I park?

There are no parking options outside of Wai’anapanapa State Park without a Parking voucher. The road outside of the park is a private road and your car will be towed! Valid forms of transportation with an Entry voucher are via walking, a non-motorized vehicle, rideshare/taxi, or carpooling with a Hawaiian Resident with State Issued ID.

I booked the wrong date or timeslot, could you please change my reservation?

Unfortunately reservation dates and times cannot be changed once the purchase has been processed. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No refunds, no exceptions.

Does my Parking reservation provide entry to all passengers in my car?

Yes. The Entry fee for all passengers is included with the purchase of a Parking reservation. *** Starting April 19, 2021 –> No. You will need both a parking reservation and entry ticket for yourself and an entry ticket for the passengers in your vehicle.

If we purchased the 7:00am to 10:00am do we need to purchase another voucher to stay until 12:00pm?

Yes, multiple timeslots can be purchased to stay at the park for an extended period. In this situation a voucher for 7:00am to 10:00am and a voucher for 10:00am to 12:30pm will be needed.

My reservation states the time of entry is 10:00am-12:30pm. Does that mean I have to leave the park by 12:30?

Yes. You can enter the park anytime within your reservation timeslot but must leave the park once your reservation has ended.

Can I park there all day?

If you want to park all day, you’ll need to purchase vouchers for all the time you plan on visiting. If you want to be there from park opening until sunset, you’ll need to purchase all Four time slots. Note – not all time slots may be available on a given date.
