Lapakahi to be Closed to the Public- November 2-5, 2017
La’au Lapa’au is the study of traditional Native Hawaiian healing through spiritual belief and native medicinal plants. Each year for the past twenty-three (23) years practitioners of this practice who studied under the late Henry “Papa” Auwae have gathered at Lapakahi State Park to learn and exchange experiences with one another as has traditionally been done in the past. This time is necessary to nurture the spirit of these individuals who have dedicated their lives to this practice.
We apologize for any inconvenience. The park will reopen on November 5, 2017 at 1 pm.
