Kawaiʻele Waterbird Sanctuary Wetland Volunteer Day
June 6 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm HST

Join us for a Restoration Workday at Kawai’ele State Waterbird Sanctuary! Sat, June 6, 2026 from 1 PM – 4 PM
Questions: 707-328-3150
Registration: bit.ly/kawaiele
Kawa’ele is a favorite spot for Hawaii’s native waterbirds—including the ‘alae ‘ula! The workday will be led by Jason Vercelli of DOFAW. We will remove invasive plants and algae around the ponds to improve habitat.
WHERE TO MEET: If driving west on Kaua’i past Kekaha, Kawal’ele will be on your left. You will see a sign for the sanctuary just off the road. We will meet Jason in that small parking lot.
WHAT TO BRING: Kawal’ele is hot!
- Water bottle
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hat
- Breathable clothing and shoes that can get dirty and muddy
- Change of clothes for after
- Binoculars for birding
