[KAUAʻI] UPDATED 6/18/24 – Waimea Canyon State Park/Kōkeʻe State Park – ATTN: Waimea/Kokeʻe Lessees and Park Vendor:
The Division of State Parks would like to inform you that GP is wanting to pave Waimea Canyon Road and the apron leading into Pu’u Hinahina Lookout on Wednesday November 6 and they would like to limit vehicle access into and out of the lookout parking lot from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm (the time from applying tack coat, to getting pma placed and initial breakdown and compaction complete). Pedestrian access will remain open, and vehicles can access the lookout before and after the closure. The open time may be even sooner, as GP will allow traffic straight across the apron as soon as the initial compaction has passed the area. GP will work with GPRS traffic control and have a portion of the road closure near the entrance open for parking of those who wish to visit the lookout. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Property Management Branch of Division of State Parks.
