Community engagement meetings scheduled for boat-based fishers

The Division of Aquatic Resources, along with NOAA Fisheries and the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council, will hold a series of statewide meetings from April 23-May 9 to hear from the boating and fishing public on potential issues in the fisheries including data collection, closed areas, and quotas. All boat-based fishers, including self-propelled vessel fishers, are encouraged to attend. The objective of these meetings is to update fishers on what’s happening within the agencies at the open house portion of the meeting, then share some current information and topics during the forum section. Most importantly the sponsoring agencies are interested in hearing questions, issues, and concerns from small boat fishers.

The schedule of meetings is shown on the attached flyer.
