Information Session on Kaua‘i

November 16, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join DAR at an information session on Kaua‘i to find out what the Holomua initiative is really about.

The Hawaiʻi Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR) launched the statewide Holomua Marine 30×30 initiative as a pilot on Maui in October 2022. The initiative will be progressing, island by island, to ensure healthy reefs and abundant resources tomorrow and for generations to come. This process is designed in a way that locals have the power to identify a network of places and resources that need better management, with options that are appropriate for their island and community.

The goal of the Holomua initiative is to support sustainable fishing practices that allow the people of Hawai‘i to enjoy coastal waters, support livelihoods, and feed our families.
