LIHUE — The Department of Land and Natural Resources’ (DLNR) Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) announces an opportunity for interested individuals to assist the division in an animal control of feral goats in Hunting Unit F on Kauai, pursuant to Title 13, Chapter 123, “Rules Regulating Game Mammal Hunting,” §13-123-9, “Nuisance or crop damage.” Animal control is being limited to archery use due to safety concerns. Public archery only participation in the control of feral goats will proceed from July 20 through Dec. 29, 2013, on weekends and state holidays. The limit will be two feral goats (either sex) per hunter per day. Animals may be de-boned in the field. Blaze orange will not be required for the archery only season.
