OAHU FISHERS INVITED TO TALK STORY WITH DLNR CHAIRPERSON
Date changed from August 29 to Sept. 4
HONOLULU — Oahu fishermen are invited to an informal “talk story” session with Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Chairperson William J. Aila, Jr. from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Department of Land and Natural Resources Land Board meeting room, 1151 Punchbowl St. room 132 in Honolulu.
The Sept. 4 meeting takes the place of the regularly scheduled monthly meeting on August 29, which was postponed. DLNR apologizes for any inconvenience that this may cause and asks that fishers help pass along this information to others who may be interested in attending.
This is a continuing opportunity for fishers to share their fishery-related concerns and have questions answered directly by the Chairperson. It will be an informal meeting aimed at allowing open and honest conversations about fishing issues not only on Oahu but throughout the State of Hawaii. Similar talk story sessions have taken place on other islands and have been well attended.
“It is our hope that we can work with the fishing community to come up with positive solutions to fishing issues in Hawaii,” said Aila.
For more information about the fishing talk-story session, contact the DLNR Division of Aquatic Resources Oahu office at (808) 587-0100. Questions may also submitted by email to [email protected].
