KEEHI SMALL BOAT HARBOR OFFICES CLOSED
DUE TO WATER MAIN BREAK

HONOLULU —  Keehi small boat harbor administrative and harbor offices and restrooms were closed today at noon and services suspended, due to a 6-inch water main break caused when a contractor drilling fence holes drilled into the harbor water line.

The harbor water line has been turned off, so there is no water in the facility to the piers, the boat washdown, showers, and buildings.  Office staff have been sent home so phones will not be answered.  A plumbing contractor will be brought in to make repairs. No estimate is available for when water services will be restored and buildings reopened.

“We regret the inconvenience to our customers and are responding as quickly as possible to restore water services so the facility can reopen,” said Ed Underwood, DOBOR administrator.

An update will be issued when water service is restored and the facility reopens.
