- 09/19/14 – Port Allen Small Boat Harbor Trailer Parking, Launch Ramp To Close Over 3 Days For Paving Work, Starting Sept. 23LIHUE, KAUAI –To facilitate planned paving and repair work, the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR) will close the trailer parking area and boat launch ramp at Port Allen Small Boat Harbor from 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, to 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26.
- 09/16/14 – State Begins Phase 2 Construction Of Diamond Head-Fort Ruger PathwayHONOLULU –The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) has begun work to complete the Fort Ruger Pathway on the exterior slopes of Diamond Head State Monument. A groundbreaking ceremony for phase two of the pathway improvements was held today at the park, led by Board of Land and Natural Resources Chairperson William Aila, Jr., and attended by legislators and representatives of the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA), Kapiolani Community College, Diamond Head Citizens Advisory Committee, and the state Department of Defense (which shares management and jurisdiction of Diamond Head State Monument).
- 09/12/14 – Makiki Valley Trail Reopens Folling Hazard Rock Remova;HONOLULU -- The Department of Land and Natural Resources today reopened a segment of the Makiki Valley hiking trail following completion and inspection of work to mitigate rock hazards exposed by a landslide in early July.

Wao Kele o Puna is owned by OHA and managed by DLNR.

To promote awareness, DLNR will host two events on Sept. 20 and 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Koko Head shooting complex in East Oahu, 8102 Kalanianaole Hwy.
- 09/05/14 – State And County To Conduct Communication Exercise In Nounou Forest Reserve On Kauai, Sept. 10LIHUE – State and County officials will conduct a communications exercise on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Nounou Forest Reserve, near Kapaa. The exercise involves the Kauai Police and Fire Departments, Kauai County Civil Defense and the Department of Land and Natural Resources’ Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement. They will be testing a portable radio repeater to determine how large of a coverage area they can get from the specific location. The day exercise will lead to the closure of the Nounou mountain trail shelter in the Nounou Forest Reserve.
