- 01/17/14 – Feral Goat Control Permits Available For Hunting Unit F on Kaua‘iLIHU‘E -- The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of Forestry and Wildlife announces an opportunity for interested individuals to assist the division in an animal control of feral goats in Hunting Unit F on Kaua‘i, pursuant to Title 13, Chapter 123, “Rules Regulating Game Mammal Hunting,” §13-123-9, “Nuisance or crop damage.”
- 01/17/14 – Hunting Units A And J Open To Feral Pig Hunting On Kaua‘i In FebruaryLIHU‘E -- Hunting Unit A on the island of Kaua‘i will open to feral pig hunting starting Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, and ending June 29, 2014, on Saturdays, Sundays, and state holidays. Hawai‘i residents interested in hunting feral pig in Hunting Unit A are required to acquire a permit from the Kaua‘i office of the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) office. All provision of Chapter 123 rules and Chapter 123 Exhibit 1 shall remain in effect.

- 01/10/14 – Land Board Authorizes Archaeological and Environmental Reviews Of Areas Covered By Proposed Land Exchange On MauiKAHULUI -- The Board of Land and Natural Resources (BLNR) today authorized the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) to seek bids to conduct an archaeological inventory survey (AIS) and environmental review (EA) necessary to explore a proposed land exchange agreement between the state and Haleakala Ranch that that the department believes will ensure public access to a disputed hiking trail, and create a new access route to two large forest reserves on the leeward slope of Haleakala.
- 01/10/14 – Land Board Issues $2,500 Civil Fine For Commercial Activity Violations At Kealakekua Bay Historic State ParkHONOLULU -- The Board of Land and Natural Resources (BLNR) today authorized an civil penalty fine of $2,500 and associated administrative costs of $753 to be assessed against Alexander Aquino, of Captain Cook, for violation of State Parks Hawaii Administrative Rule chapter 13-146-68, which prohibits commercial activities in State Parks without a written permit from the board or the Division of State Parks.

Facilitated by Abercrombie Administration efforts to modernize and transform state technology infrastructure, this online resource allows Hawaii residents and non-residents to purchase a license required to fish in the state’s freshwater streams and waters from their computer or mobile device.

- 12/31/13 – DLNR – REMINDER Waikiki-Diamond Head Shoreline Fisheries Management Area Opens To One-Year Fishing Jan. 1HONOLULU -- The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) announces the opening of the Waikiki-Diamond Head Shoreline Fisheries Management Area, O‘ahu, to fishing for one year beginning Jan. 1, 2014, and ending Dec.31, 2014. The Fisheries Management Area encompasses the nearshore waters between the ‘Ewa wall of the Waikiki War Memorial Natatorium and the Diamond Head Lighthouse, from the high-water mark on shore to a minimum seaward distance of 500 yards, or to the edge of the fringing reef if one occurs beyond 500 yards.
