Division of Aquatic Resources

The proposed sanctuary would be managed by NOAA and the State of Hawaiʻi. The current co-management of Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument will continue. The national marine sanctuary would include only the marine areas of Papahānaumokuākea.

NOAA and the State of Hawai‘i will accept public comment on the proposed documents from March 1 – May 7, 2024 and will host meetings to gather public input. We hope to see you there!
