Documented Vessels

Vessels that are documented with the U.S. Coast Guard cannot be concurrently registered.  Any person attempting to register a previously documented vessel will need to provide valid paperwork from the U.S. Coast Guard showing that the vessel has been deleted from documentation.

If a vessel becomes documented after being registered for Hawaii use, the owner must provide a written notification to the DOBOR Vessel Registration & Titling Office that the vessel will no longer be a Hawaii registered vessel.  If an owner does not provide the written notification to DOBOR, they will still be responsible for any applicable registration fees that accrue until the written notification is provided.

Owners of documented vessels who wish to obtain a launch ramp permit can do so by completing applicable forms and paying an annual $75.00 launch ramp fee.  The launch ramp fee includes launch ramp decals that must be affixed to the vessel trailer.  Replacement launch ramp decals are $10.00 per set.  For more information, please contact the DOBOR Vessel Registration & Titling Office:
