STATUS OF BEACH WEDDING PERMITS & OTHER WIKI PERMIT ACTIVITIES

(Honolulu) -The Wiki Permits online system is the permitting service for authorized applicants to reserve and purchase permits for commercial activity (beach weddings, etc.) on unencumbered State lands, specifically on state public beaches. 

Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, staff from the DLNR Land Division who handle Wiki permitting will not be in op​eration and no permit applications will be processed at this time. They are unable to respond to e-mail or phone inquiries.   

Anyone with an existing Wiki Permit account, with a valid and current certificate of insurance, may continue to obtain permits online.  Due to social distancing requirements, only 10 people are permitted for each permit.

The following State public beaches are closed until further notice: 

O‘ahu: Allen Davis, Ka‘ena Point Reserve, Kahana Bay Beach,  Mākua Beach, Malaekahana Beach (fronting State Recreation Area), Mokulēʻia Beach (1 to 5), Sand Island Beach (fronting State Park), Yokohama Bay Beach

Hawai‘i Island: Mahai‘ula Bay Beach, Manini‘owali Beach (Kua Bay), Waialea Beach, Hāpuna Beach (fronting State Recreaction Area)

Kaua‘i: Hanakāpīʻai Beach (Nāpali Coast State Wilderness Park), Polihale Beach, Waimea River Mouth (Near Russian Fort)

Maui: no Wiki permit beaches are closed
