- 07/22/16 – Revised Draft Honuaula Habitat Conservation Plan Subject of Public Hearing on MauiWAILUKU -- The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW), pursuant to Chapter 195D, Hawaiʻi Revised Statutes, will hold a public hearing to receive testimony on the Revised Draft Honuaʻula Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP). The hearing will be held July 27, 2016 starting at 5:30 at the J. Walter Cameron Center, 95 Mahalani St, Wailuku, HI 96793.
- 07/19/16 – Water Service Restored To Keehi Small Boat Harbor and OfficesHONOLULU -- Water service was restored this afternoon to Keehi small boat harbor administrative and harbor offices, restrooms, boat washdown and piers. The offices will reopen tomorrow morning.
- 07/19/16 – Keehi Small Boat Harbor Offices Closed Due To Water Main BreakHONOLULU -- Keehi small boat harbor administrative and harbor offices and restrooms were closed today at noon and services suspended, due to a 6-inch water main break caused when a contractor drilling fence holes drilled into the harbor water line.
- 07/18/16 – Environmental Court Fines Defendant $250 for Illegal Throw Net During Oama; Defendant Forfeits Net As ContrabandHONOLULU -- Environmental Court Judge Linda Luke on Friday imposed a fine of $250 upon a defendant who was apprehended using an illegal throw net to catch oama. Additionally, the defendant’s net was ordered for destruction as contraband fishing gear. The case stems from October 2015, when an off-duty Division of Conservation and Resource Enforcement (DOCARE) officer observed the defendant, Keith Sonoda, catching oama with an illegal throw net at Maunalua Bay Beach Park.
- 07/18/16 – Important Safety Information For Kaiwi State Scenic Shoreline – Makapu‘uHONOLULU -- Due to the anticipated continued high surf on east facing shores of O‘ahu being generated from Tropical Storm Celia and Hurricane Darby, all park users who visit Kaiwi State Scenic Shoreline -- commonly referred to as Makapu‘u -- should stay out of the water at the tide pools below the Makapu‘u lighthouse.

- 07/15/16 – Repairs To Begin To Loading Dock At Heeia-Kea Small Boat Ramp Next WeekHONOLULU -- Starting next Monday, July 18, 2016, construction will begin to repair the old and damaged loading dock on the south side of Heeia-Kea Small Boat Harbor boat launch ramp. The project will include replacement of structural members beneath the deck, installation of new fendering, and new cleats. Project contractor is Ke Nui Construction, LLC, and cost is $68,750.

- 07/14/16 – Community Invited To Open House To Discuss Updates To The Ha‘ena State Park Master PlanHONOLULU -- Interested community members are invited to an open house at Ha‘ena State Park to discuss changes and updates to the draft master plan and environmental impact statement (EIS) on Saturday, July 23, 2016. The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), State Parks Division and members of the Ha‘ena State Park Community Advisory Committee (CAC) will host the open house forum so people can visit the site and see the location and scale of proposed park facilities and infrastructure.
