- 09/13/13 – DLNR To Reopen Kalalau Trail Saturday MorningDivision of State Parks crews were concluding a three-day enforcement and maintenance project to clear and remove large quantities of discarded camping gear and associated trash and garbage from illegal campsites throughout Kalalau valley. It costs about $20,000 to remove these items from Kalalau via helicopter sling loads.
- 09/13/13 – Keehi Lagoon Waters Closed To Water Recreational Activities Following Molasses SpillHONOLULU -- Effective today, the state Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) has closed Keehi Lagoon to commercial and recreational ocean activities – including fishing and canoe paddling – for public safety due to impacts of Monday’s molasses spill in nearby Honolulu harbor. Warning signs are being posted by DLNR and the Hawaii Department of Health.
