During the period of July 9-10, 2022, the FAD Program replaced FAD sites/Light number; CC (Kaena Pt., Lanai) 28008.19, Q (Pauwela Pt., Maui) 28007.35, N (Cape Halawa, Molokai) 28008.21, T (Makapuu, Oahu) 28008.31, and U (Kaneohe, Oahu) 28008.27. Also on July 14, 2022, X (Kahuku, Oahu) 28008.23 off Kaena Pt., Oahu was recovered.

A bill passed by the 2022 State Legislature banning the use of drones for fishing was signed into law by Gov. Ige June 27, 2022 and took effect immediately.
