Lost Certification

Lost Certification – Boating Safety Certifications

If you’ve misplaced your boating safety card or certificate, here are the steps you can take:

  1. Contact Your Course Provider

    • The course provider is the primary source for retrieving your credentials. DLNR DOBOR does not know what course provider you selected from our approved list of course providers.  To see list click here.

    • Log in to your course account to re-download your certificate.

    • Check your email for a copy—try searching with keywords such as: certification, completion, boating, course, thrill craft, etc.

  2. If You Don’t Remember Your Course Provider

    • Review your email inbox for past notifications from boating safety course providers.

  3. Quick Links to Common Providers

If your course provider you selected was BoatUS, BoaterExam or BoatEd, you can try the links below:

  4. DLNR DOBOR Optional Certified Boater Registry

    • If you applied to the optional registry, DOBOR may have your credential on file.

    • Email: [email protected]

Important: Ultimately, you must work with your course provider to replace a lost certificate. If you cannot locate your original provider or credentials, you will need to retake the course.  If you misplaced your Thrill Craft or Tow-in Surfing Credential, you need to reach out to your course provider that you took the course from or login to the course provider site to obtain. If you cannot find your misplaced certification, you will need to take a course again.
