- 10/03/22 – OCTOBER IS STOP THE ANT MONTH(HONOLULU) – October is “Stop the Ant Month” in Hawaiʻi, and residents are encouraged to collect and submit ants to help detect and control the spread of invasive ants. Every year, new Little Fire Ant (LFA) infestations are detected by people participating in this statewide program, which prevents millions of dollars in impacts and costs for entire communities.
- 09/15/22 – STATE RECEIVES NEARLY $2 MILLION FOR FOREST PROTECTION(HONOLULU) – The Hawaiʻi Department of Land and Natural Resources will be further protecting forests in the Kohala Mountains on Hawai‘i Island thanks to awards from the federal Bureau of Reclamation (BOR). The BOR has awarded more than $1.9 million to protect forested and wetland habitat from invasive species and replant in riparian corridors.

- 09/03/22 – SHARK WARNING SIGNS UP AT PĀʻIA BAY MAUI(HONOLULU) – An apparent shark incident, this afternoon, at Pāʻia Bay on Maui’s north shore had prompted shark warning signs to go up from Baldwin Beach to Taveres Bay.
- 09/03/22 – U.S. CORAL REEF TASK FORCE PANEL DETAILS HAWAI‘I LEADERSHIP ON MARINE RESOURCES MANAGEMENT(KAILUA-KONA) – A panel discussion, during the 45th annual U.S. Coral Reef Task Force (USCRTF) meeting, focused on the leadership Hawai‘i is showing the country and the world in the face of mounting challenges to conserve ocean resources.

- 08/22/22 – CORAL TAKES CENTER STAGE AND YOU CAN BE INVOLVED(KAILUA-KONA, HAWAIʻI ISLAND) – A collaboration of 13 federal agencies, seven U.S. states, territories, commonwealths, and three Freely Associated States comprise the U.S. Coral Reef Task Force (USCRTF). Task force members meet twice a year. The USCRTF was established in 1998 by Executive Order to lead U.S. efforts to preserve and protect coral reef ecosystems across jurisdictions.

- 08/18/22 – STATE CONSERVATION POLICE CONCLUDE TWO-WEEK-LONG OVERWATCH OF KAIMANA MONK SEALS(HONOLULU) – For the past 15 days, officers from the DLNR Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE) have provided enforcement and education at Kaimana Beach, while Rocky, a mother monk seal, taught her pup the skills it will need to survive on its own.
