Permits will be limited and given on a first-come, first-served basis from the Lihue DOFAW Office at 3060 Eiwa St., Rm. 306, Lihue, HI 96766. Participants must present their 2013-2014 Hawaii Hunting license when acquiring their permit.
A participant may sign up for both archery and muzzleloader control hunting periods.
Archery only dates (two-day slots): Sept. 7-8 and 14-15, 2013. Archery permits will be available on Aug. 12, 2013, at 8 a.m.
Muzzleloader only dates (two-day slots): Sept. 21-22 and 28-29, 2013; October 5-6, 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27, 2013. Muzzleloader permits will be available on Aug. 19, 2013, at 8 a.m.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) at noon reopened the beaches from Polo Beach Park to the Mana Kai Maui Resort in the Kihei-Wailea area.
The interagency Hawaii Invasive Species Council (HISC) has approved a budget of $2.55 million for fiscal year 2014 to support statewide programs to prevent the introduction and spread of invasive species in Hawaii, as well as management and public outreach efforts.
