- 12/20/16 – Entries Sought For 2017-2018 Hawaii Wildlife Conservation Stamp ContestHONOLULU -- The Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) is seeking entries in an art contest to depict hunters during a hunt for game birds and mammals for its 2017-2018 Hawai‘i Wildlife Conservation and Game Bird Stamp. The conservation stamp is required on the Hawai‘i State hunting license, and the game bird hunting stamp is required for those intending to hunt game birds. Both stamps (differing slightly in text) will be available to wildlife stamp collectors.
- 12/19/16 – DLNR To Auction Lease For Mapunapuna PropertyHONOLULU -- The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Land Division, O‘ahu District Branch, will be conducting a public auction sale of a 20-year lease for State land at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Kalanimoku state office building, 1151 Punchbowl St., in room 220. Pre-qualified bidders or authorized representatives must be present in person at the auction.
- 12/15/16 – ‘Alalā Released into Natural Area ReserveFive young ‘Alalā—critically endangered Hawaiian crows—were released into Pu‘u Maka‘ala Natural Area Reserve on the Big Island of Hawai‘i on Dec, 14. The group of male birds took a few minutes to emerge from the aviary where they had been temporarily housed, and they appeared to show a natural curiosity for their surroundings.

- 12/13/16 – New Maui Annex Building To House Multiple DLNR Offices; Construction to begin in early 2017WAILUKU, MAUI -- A groundbreaking ceremony yesterday at the Maui Annex state building at 130 Mahalani Street is preparing the way for demolition of the 57-year old building, and construction starting in early 2017, of a new 7,000 square-foot building on the one-acre state parcel that has housed four divisions of the Department of Land and Natural Resources.

We are fortunate to retain his decades of private sector, high-level business experience, as the Bureau of Conveyances continues a major modernization initiative directed at making its vital State records easily accessible to the public.
