Island of Maui
The Commission’s efforts to develop instream flow standards on the Island of Maui are captured here. Maui is divided into five regions: Lahaina, Wailuku, Makawao, Ke‘anae, Kahikinui. Each region is further divided into individual surface water hydrologic units. Each unit has it own unique, 4-digit surface water hydrologic unit (SWHU) code. The tables are organized by regions (click on each drop-down below) and SWHU Code, and contain links to the resource pages that provide further details and information on the development of instream flow standards for each unit. Some instream flow standards were developed administratively by the Commission and its staff, while others were arrived at by way of a contested case hearing.
NOTE: This page is still under development and individual hydrologic unit data is still being compiled.
Instream Flow Standard Events
In some cases, instream flow standards are adopted or adjudicated in groups comprising multiple hydrologic units. The event links below provide a chronological history of the Commission’s activities that considered the setting of measurable instream flow standards.
