- 12/02/14 – DLNR Arrests Two Guides For Leading Illegal Lava Viewing Tours Into Wao Kele O Puna Forest And Kahaualea Natural Area ReservesPUNA DISTRICT, HAWAII COUNTY -- Two guides who were involved in leading tours into the state Wao Kele O Puna Forest Reserve and Kahaualea Natural Area Reserve were arrested by Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE) officers on Monday.. The charges were for prohibited entry into closed areas and for engaging in illegal commercial activities on DLNR-managed lands.

- 11/13/14 – Nominations Sought For The Hawaii Big Tree CompetitionHONOLULU – The holiday season marks the beginning of the annual Hawaii Big Tree Competition. Sponsored by the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife and American Forests, the program focuses attention on the largest trees in each species, as a way to raise awareness about the importance of healthy trees and forests. This is another milestone in the battle against invasive seaweeds threatening to smother coral patch reefs in Kaneohe Bay.
