(Honolulu) – The owner of a 112 foot-long, twin-engine, fishing boat has one week to move his vessel before the DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR) conducts a public auction of the boat.

(Honolulu) - Two proposals were received for the development of parcels of land at the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor on O’ahu. After review, neither of the proposals was selected. For now, the DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR), has concluded the Request for Proposals (RFP) process and it expects a new and potentially revised RFP will be reissued at a later date.
(Honolulu) – Today, following-up on a citizen complaint, officers from the DLNR Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE) recovered an estimated 1,000 feet of unattended lay net within Kaneohe Bay.
(Kailua-Kona) – The largest cruise ship to ever make a port call to Kailua-Kona, Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas, with well over 4,000 passengers onboard will anchor in Kailua Bay from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00p.m. on Sunday, September 29th and begin tendering passengers to the Kailua Pier.
(Honolulu) – Fee increases for users of Hawai‘i small boat harbors and boating facilities will be implemented soon, after they were signed into law by Governor David Ige on August 13, 2019. “Our goal was to set fees that are fair according to use,” said Ed Underwood, Administrator for DLNR's Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR). "DOBOR is only allowed to collect fees to pay for expenses of operating, maintaining, and managing our facilities. The revenues from the fee increases over time will help to reduce the significant backlog of deferred maintenance so we can make our harbors safe and appealing once again.”
(Kihei)-The DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR) has awarded a $680, 880 contract to Goodfellow Bros. LLC to dredge the entrance channel of Kihei Boat Ramp. This project will begin on July 1, 2019 with an estimated completion of November 4, 2019.
(Honolulu) – On Sunday, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser will publish a legal notice from the DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR) announced a public auction of five (5) impounded vessels from the Ala Wai and Keehi Small Boat Harbors on O‘ahu. Bidders must appear in person at the June 28th auction to be held at the DOBOR District Office at 4 Sand Island Access Road beginning at 9 a.m.
(Honolulu) – The vessel, Skye, also known as the Navatech is expected to be lifted from the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor tomorrow. The DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR) notified the boat’s owner some months ago that he would need to remove his vessel as he was $16,000 in arrears in mooring fees and the Skye had become non-seaworthy and could not leave the state’s largest small boat harbor under its own power.
(Honolulu) –Access to the Maunalua Bay Boat Ramp will be closed next week from March 25th to March 29th as contractors will be removing the condemned pier. Weather permitting and if the contractor can finish the work earlier, the boat ramp will re-open at that time.
(Wailuku, Maui) – New evidence suggests that some marine predators are being displaced by high human use at the Molokini Marine Life Conservation District (MLCD), which in 2018 attracted more than 360,000 snorkelers and divers. At an information and scoping meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 21, 2019 staff from the DLNR, Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR), will present details of recent scientific studies and learn about management concerns for Molokini Crater.
