HONOLULU – This morning, officials at the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center called off the tsunami advisory for the state of Hawaiʻi. As of 9 a.m., all state parks and small boat harbors on all islands have reopened.

HONOLULU - The DLNR Division of Conservation Resources Enforcement (DOCARE) is mobilizing statewide to assist tsunami evacuation efforts. All state parks with a beach component are closed.

HONOLULU – Maintenance dredging and facility improvements are set to begin at the Maunalua Bay Boat Ramp in Hawai‘i Kai next week. The DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR) is hosting a pre-construction meeting this Friday, July 25 at 3 p.m. at the Maunalua Bay Boat Ramp Facility to present project details and information.  All those interested are welcomed to attend.

HILO, Hawaiʻi – The second and final phase of the demolition of the former Uncle Billy’s Hilo Bay Hotel started this week, marking a significant step toward the revitalization of the Waiakea Peninsula. This phase will prepare the site for future use, with completion anticipated in January 2026.

KONA, Hawaiʻi Island – Surveys conducted last week located two breeding sites of coconut rhinoceros beetle (CRB) in Kona, on the west side of Hawaiʻi Island. The detection triggered the launch of a state and county interagency response effort to manage and eradicate the invasive species. Partners include the DLNR, University of Hawaiʻi, Big Island Invasive Species Committee (BIISC), Department of Agriculture and Biosecurity (DAB), and County of Hawaiʻi.

HONOLULU  – Marine patrol units of the DLNR Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE) are now active on O‘ahu, Hawai‘i Island, Maui and Kaua‘i.
