(Honolulu) – Deer hunting enthusiasts can soon apply to hunt for the new season. The Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) announces that application forms for the 2019 Lana’i Axis deer hunting season, together with instruction sheets, will be available at all DOFAW Offices statewide beginning next Monday October 1, 2018.

Yesterday researchers with The ʻAlalā Project released five more ‘Alalā into the Pu‘u Maka‘ala Natural Area Reserve. These birds will join eleven ‘Alalā already thriving in native forests on the windward slopes of Mauna Loa.

(HONOLULU) – The contributions of hunters and fishers to conservation were again recognized nationally and in Hawai‘i during National Hunting and Fishing Day events. This was Hawai‘i’s 28th year of recognizing the event and for the first-time activities were scheduled over two separate weekends.

(Kailua-Kona) – More than 300 boat owners at Hawai‘i island’s Honokōhau Small Boat Harbor are being advised by the DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR) to contact the new operator of the harbor’s dry marine storage facility. Pacific Marine Partners LLC (dba Honokōkau Marine Storage) assumes operations of the nine-acre boat storage lot on Nov. 1, 2018 following the termination of a revocable permit (RP) by the Board of Land and Natural Resources (BLNR) in August.
