(HONOLULU) – The Kaiwi State Scenic Shoreline (state park) and Makapuʻu Lighthouse Trail will be closed on Tuesday, June 25 from 6:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. for removal of de-energized power lines.
(HONOLULU) – Hawaiian monk seal Rocky (RH58) gave birth to a pup overnight. Today, Rocky and her pup rested on a beach at Sand Island State Recreation Area (SRA) on O‘ahu.
(POLIHALE STATE PARK, KAUA‘I) – On Monday, the protection and restoration of the sensitive dune system at Polihale State Park began. Poʻoahonu (commonly known as Queen’s Pond) will be closed Mondays through Fridays while dune protection measures are ongoing. The restoration area will be open on weekends.
(LĪHUʻE, KAUA‘I) - The Wailua Forest Management Road, “Loop Road” in the Līhuʻe -Koloa Forest Reserve will remain closed through the end of the year due to hazardous and impassable conditions caused by storm damage.

(WAIMEA, KAUA‘I) - Quick actions by firefighters from the Kaua‘i Fire Department (KFD) and the DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW), kept a fast-moving brush fire above Waimea, Kaua‘i, from spreading beyond an estimated 300 acres. It is called the Hukipo fire.
