HISC Brown Bag Presentation #14
Title: I’m Just a Bill: An Overview of Hawaii’s Legislative Process Relating to Invasive Species
Presenter: Dr. Joshua Atwood, Hawaii Invasive Species Council
Date: January 10, 2018
Summary: The state legislature is an important venue for advancing Hawaii’s biosecurity. It can also be a confusing place full of fast-paced discussion and strange deadlines, like laterals, deckings, and crossovers. For those who’d like to engage, this brown bag presentation reviews the structure and calendar of our state legislature. In particular we focus on the committees and likely 2018 bills relevant to invasive species.
The HISC Brown Bag Series is an ongoing set of informal lunchtime presentations to facilitate information sharing among partners and stakeholders. Presentations are are announced via the HISC email list and remote access is provided by WebEx. View other presentations in the HISC Brown Bag series at http://dlnr.hawaii.gov/hisc/category/brownbag/
