(KAILUA-KONA, HAWAI‘I ISLAND) – Sixty-pound cinder blocks placed in the ocean for a Hawai‘i Island canoe regatta last weekend caused a range of damage from minimal-to-significant to approximately 100 coral colonies in Kailua Bay.

(KAHULUI, MAUI) – Executing a search warrant, officers from the DLNR Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE), and NOAA’s Office of Law Enforcement (OLE), confiscated dozens of items from the Antique Freak shop in Wailuku, on Tuesday.
(HONOLULU) – PO5, or the recently named Hawaiian monk seal pup, Pualani, will be relocated from Kaimana Beach in Waikīkī after she is weaned, according to NOAA. The offspring of mother seal Kaʻiwi was born in mid-April.
