Invasive species impact many parts of our lives, economy, and environment, and dealing with invasive species requires many hands all working together. Hawaii is a model for how different state, federal, county, and private entities can come together and work on shared goals.
Representative Cindy Evans (North Kona, South Kohala, North Kohala) recently dedicated an episode of her local television program, “Now What?” to the topic of invasive species management in Hawaii. Representative Evans and HISC Program Supervisor Josh Atwood discuss Hawaii’s invasive species problems and the unique, interagency solutions employed by the State of Hawaii to protect our economy, agriculture, environment, and way of life.
